The City of Calgary is initiating an Urban Design Study for the area along 33 and 34 Avenues SW between 19 Street SW and Crowchild Trail SW, known as Marda Loop. This study will:
- define and identify the character of the area
- clarify the future land use pattern
- recommend minor amendments to the South Calgary/Altadore Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP).
You are welcome to participate in the next phase of the project. This involves a Public Open House where you can view and provide feedback on the draft guiding principles, preliminary concepts and potential draft ARP amendments.

The community wants to know if you support this initiave? Do you support the CIty acquiring the land along 50th Ave S, to make way for a future expressway/freeway?? Do you support a multi lane road through our residential community?
Why is 50th ave designated as an expressway/freewat? It is a feeder road, and it should be designated as such. We wont allow a freeway through our community and we dont support the destruction of a brudge through Sandy Beach Park. IT sounds to me as though this is the City’s way of getting closer to their goal, regardless of what the community wants.
Please clarify your position on these issues.
